It will be helpful to find the cause of the problem if you paste the whole log right from the u-boot coming up.

    Posted 04-16-2010 02:59

This is a strange problem. JUNOS while trying to install the package is not able to read the partition (/dev/da1s1) on the USB key holding the package to install.

You may want to try out the following steps as per your convenience:

    Step 1:

        * Take another USB key (preferably of the make Transcend, Kingston, Lexar, Unigen or Sandisk) and format it.

        * Use FAT if USB key is of size is less than equal to 2GB or FAT32 if USB key size is greater than or equal to 4 GB.

        * Copy the package junos-srxsme-10.1R1.8-domestic_2.tgz in root directory of USB key

        * Try install from loader prompt using command install file:///junos-srxsme-10.1R1.8-domestic_2.tgz

    Step 2:

If you do not have any other USB key then use the following procedure for the USB key you are using till now  (which as log messages show is 2GB Imation USB key)

        * Format using FAT as size of USB key is 2GB

        * Copy the package junos-srxsme-10.1R1.8-domestic_2.tgz in root directory of USB key

        * Try install from loader prompt using command install file:///junos-srxsme-10.1R1.8-domestic_2.tgz

    Step 3:
If step 1 and 2 do not work out, Try TFTP install from loader prompt.
If all steps fail, please call JTAC.
If you have doubts in any of the steps, post it here.
    Regards

    Hi amjain,

Thanks for your reply, I've tried all the steps and sadly failed.

I try to contact JTAC, but still no response.

Yes, it did turn out to RMA, they said it was internal CF Problem.
