SDN Adoption Landscape in India

Earlier this year, Juniper Networks commissioned IDC to carry out a survey in India to understand where SDN is going in this fast emerging economy.

It turns out India, together with Australia/New Zealand, Singapore, and China are above the Asia/Pacific excluding Japan (APeJ) average, in terms of awareness and activity. These countries report that a high proportion of respondents that are thinking about applying and testing SDN solutions in their IT environment.

In particular for this study in India, Juniper is honored to be one of the most preferred vendors when India CIOs consider various SDN solutions or products.

CIOs are confident that SDN is the way moving forward, with as high as 86% of total respondents reporting that enterprise networks in future will be a combination of SDN and traditional networks.

“The networking architecture landscape in India is in a state of transition and the software-defined model can enable significant advantages, making it the logical solution every organisation turns to for better efficiency and security. With 65 percent of the respondents across sectors being aware of the benefits of deploying SDN, we are on the verge of a unique and significant transition in the industry." Sajan Paul, Director (Systems Engineering) - India & SAARC, Juniper Networks.

The survey says the top challenge to deploy SDN is the difficulty of integration with existing infrastructure.  This is exactly what Juniper can help them address – whether for data centers or cloud:
