You're Invited - Live Chat Session

Please join us for a live chat session with subject matter experts to answer your questions on Network Access Control and Remote Access in the Federal environment.

During this live chat, we'll address a number of topics including:

  • How to guarantee only Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) accesses the network
  • How to authenticate local or remote connections to your infrastructure using CAC/PIV cards or other credentials
  • Role-based authorization and single sign-on
  • How to validate host-based firewalls and antivirus software before access
  • Benefits of applying NAC and end system compliance in your networks
  • Real-life examples of how customers use NAC

Step 1: Make sure you sign-up for J-Net:

  1. Make sure you create an account in our J-Net Community 24 hours prior to the event
  2. Once you've created an account and receive a confirmation email, log-in to J-Net and create a username and password
  3. Now you're ready to chat! Read instructions below on how to join the NAC chat session on 3/18/10

Step 2: Logging into the live chat session:

  1. Sign-in to J-Net using your user name and password at
  2. Scroll down to the "Live Chat" section
  3. Click on "Federal Chat"

About the Presenters: 


  Edwin Cowart is a Systems Engineering Manager with Juniper Networks, specializing in network access control. Edwin has more than twenty years experience in the software security and software development arena. In his current role at Juniper, his focus is on the access control challenges of the Federal business sector. This focus includes open standards like Trusted Network Connect and IEEE 802.1X. Edwin joined Juniper in 2005. Prior to Juniper Networks, he worked at Funk Software, which pioneered Network Access Control and FIPS solutions for 802.11i. Juniper Networks acquired Funk Software in 2005. Edwin holds an MBA in Information Technology and a Bachelors of Science from the University of Georgia.


 Jay Dineshkumar is a Systems Engineer with Juniper Networks, specializing in Access Control solutions such as SSL VPN remote access.  Jay has more than 15 years of experience in networking and security solutions. In his current role and Juniper, Jay specializes on SSL VPN solutions for the Federal sector focusing on Smartcard auth and FIPs approved systems.  Jay joined Juniper in 2005 and holds a Bachelors of Science in Information Systems management from University of Maryland.


Paul Wilkens is a Senior Systems Engineer with Juniper Networks, has more than 15 years of experience in network-based security and auditing techniques.  His duties at Juniper include working with Department of Defense test laboratories to ensure compliance with information assurance certification requirements.  Prior to joining Juniper, he spent several years consulting in datacenter and high-performance computing environments, then helped Nokia's service provider division pioneer multi-tenant security solutions.  He received a B.A. in Biology from Reed College, with a concentration in scientific computation.
