DX Quick Reference Guide and AppRule Cheat Sheet v5.2
12-18-2007
02:47 PM
I'm a bit behind on getting the 5.3 version out the door. I will try to have it updated late this month or early in the new year. This looks best if you print it in color on 11x17 paper fit to margins. There is some small font.

ActiveN is extremly powerful and allows you to scale you site as large as you need it without worrying about "turning on too many features" in your LB with one config and one VIP.

ClientIP Transparency AppNote
12-18-2007
02:59 PM
DX NATs most of it's connections, there may be times when you need to get the end-user's IP address to backend servers as part of the TCP stack.
There is usually a better option if the app or webserver can look at an HTTP header rather than requiring the IP in the TCP stack. Use the "custom ip log header" in your cluster. There is a global settign that can be cutomized on a per Cluster Group basis if you so require.

Upgrade AppNote for DXOS 5.2 and earlier
12-18-2007
03:24 PM
This docs explains how to do upgrades to your DX. This is the only way to do upgrades for versions 5.2 and earlier.
5.3 adds a very simple broswer based upgrade path with no need for SCP or TFTP. You can still do it the old school way if you would like to. I will post a video version of a 5.3 upgrade.
