DX 3250 - "hard error writing fsbn"

‎01-29-2009 04:14 AM

I've been receiving continuously the following error messages in de DX's system log:

[2009-01-29 10:10:12 (+0200)][ALERT][LOG_][ad0s1a: hard error writing fsbn 2009
[2009-01-29 10:10:12 (+0200)][ALERT][LOG_][ad0s1a: hard error writing fsbn 2004
[2009-01-29 10:10:12 (+0200)][ALERT][LOG_][ad0s1a: hard error writing fsbn 1999
[2009-01-29 10:10:12 (+0200)][ALERT][LOG_][ad0s1a: hard error writing fsbn 1896
[2009-01-29 10:10:12 (+0200)][ALERT][LOG_][ad0s1a: hard error writing fsbn 1890
[2009-01-29 10:10:12 (+0200)][ALERT][LOG_][ad0s1a: hard error writing fsbn 1885

I couldn't modify the current configuration or even upload new app rules or certificate files.

"Couldn't create destination file."

Is there any way to force a FSCK on DX or this is a physical error and some hardware should be replaced ?

Thanks and my best regards,

Carlos

There is no fsck or similar utility on the DX and as the flash is not field-replaceable you should open a JTAC case so the unit can be replaced by RMA.   The flash is split between the two boot partitions, so if the DX is not operating properly on the current boot partition due to this problem as a temporary measure you could try the alternative partition as it's flash partition might be unaffected, though the device should be eventually submitted for RMA so you have both partitions available.
