‎04-10-2008 02:02 AM

Hi all,

do you know if, with DX3200, when their are in a cluster config, when polling for snmp data, if we only can query the master ?

can we query the slave ?

Thanks.

You can query the master or standby unit with SNMP.   I have two units in a failover pair:

vauxhall% sh failover status
Failover (config file status): enabled
Unified Failover statistics (uptime = 182980 secs).
Self:9500 NodeID=2887393230 Status=Master ForceMaster
172.26.31.205:9500 NodeID=2887393229 Up=182990 Status=Standby

 I can snmpwalk the standby -

#snmpwalk -v2c -c public 172.26.31.205 | less

SNMPv2-MIB::sysDescr.0 = STRING: Juniper Networks Application Acceleration Platf
orm DX 3680, Version: 5.3.5 0
SNMPv2-MIB::sysObjectID.0 = OID: SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.6213
DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (112335) 0:18:43.35
SNMPv2-MIB::sysContact.0 = STRING: Unknown
SNMPv2-MIB::sysName.0 = STRING: brixton.jtac-emea.jnpr.net
SNMPv2-MIB::sysLocation.0 = STRING: Unknown
SNMPv2-MIB::sysORLastChange.0 = Timeticks: (6) 0:00:00.06
SNMPv2-MIB::sysORID.1 = OID: SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.6213
SNMPv2-MIB::sysORID.2 = OID: SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.6213.2.3
SNMPv2-MIB::sysORID.3 = OID: SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.6213.2.4
<cut>

And also snmprget against it:

# snmpget -v2c -c public 172.26.31.206 DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance
DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (116330) 0:19:23.30

SNMP needs to be enabled on the DX with 'set admin snmp up'; to view the settings use 'show admin snmp'.
