Tip: Searching a large configuration

‎11-18-2010 10:27 AM

When searching for a certain parameter in a large configuration,

Say, you would like to find all configuration for a interface ge-1/0/0. If we issue "show| match ge-1/0/0" we get the following output.

regress@maple# show| match ge-1/0/0
    ge-1/0/0 {
        interface ge-1/0/0.0 {
        interface ge-1/0/0.0;

However, we don't understand the hierarchy at which the configuration was done. By using " show| match ge-1/0/0| displya set" we can get see the full configuration commands.

regress@maple# show| match ge-1/0/0 | display set
set interfaces ge-1/0/0 unit 0 family inet address 11.1.200.21/30
set interfaces ge-1/0/0 unit 0 family mpls
