Can I apply configuration for a group of interfaces? Just like cisco "interface range fa0/1 - fa0/24".

Hi,

We've had this question answered in this post:

http://forums.juniper.net/jnet/board/message?board.id=switch&message.id=525

In summary the answer is no, not like we can do on a Cisco switch, but Junos has some powerfull tools like configuration groups that can be applied to several statements (ie interfaces) in the configuration.

For example if you want to add all ports to vlan "V1" you can add this to the configuration:

groups {

    INT {

        interfaces {

            ge-0/0/0 {

                unit 0 {

                    family ethernet-switching {

                        port-mode access;

                        vlan {

                            members V1;

                        }

                    }

                }

            }

        }

    }

}

apply-groups INT;

On the other hand you can use JWEB to select several interfaces and to change their configuration in one shoot.

Hope this Will Help You

I have been told that an equivalent of interface range will be available in Nov 09.
