  • 1.  ECMP support on EX3300

    Posted 01-21-2015 03:38

    Hi guys,

I'm trying to find out if ECMP is supported in EX series. I've only found documentation stating that EX4300 supports it but nothing about any other EX models.

    Thanks in advance,

Yes, it's supported. To make full use of it, don't forget to add the per-packet policy:

    https://www.juniper.net/documentation/en_US/junos14.2/topics/usage-guidelines/policy-configuring-per-packet-load-balancing.html

    Supported Platforms

By the way, JunOS 14.2 is not even supported on most EX switches.

That was the first link that I got when searched with google 🙂

ECMP is supported on all EX platforms. You don't need to worry about that. Seems to be a documentation issue.

Here is a KB discussing this:

    Thanks for the replies!

Anyone knows if there is any doc about the hashing algorithm and if it can be configured? Eg. layer3/4 src/dst fields, GRE key, etc.

    Thanks!

The hash algorithm for EX platforms(except ex9200 and ex4600)is fixed and the user cannot configure it.

    The values used are:

    IPv4 - src/dst IP, src/dst port
    IPv6 - src/dst IPv6, src/dst port, IPv6 flow label

You'll need AFL license for L3 as well.
