Switching

Hi folks,

I have a EX that is not learning any mac address...

I already clear the FDB but it's not learning my mac address... 

I plug a notebook and nothing, nothing of mac address.

Maybe this is influencing in some traffic of two servers  that I have here.

Any idea?

Do you mean that the EX doesn't learn mac addresses anywhere (I mean on different ports etc)? is the appropriate VLAN configured and allowed on the corresponding ports?

Worst case, you might have bad hardware.. but would be good to do all the troubleshooting you could before contacting the JTAC 🙂

So, I already try in some ports that are free... like ge-0/0/15, 16 and 17.

In all this ports I have a vlan configured it'ss network_80.

There is any comand that I can reset/reboot just a interface? Maybe this can resolve...

A couple of things I can think of:

- Is the switch running any sort of port security or 802.1x type stuff?

- Notebook is able to connect to another network port somewhere (to make sure patch cable and notebook port work)

- Anything in switch logs?

Hey, just for knowledge,

I note that my Junos was in version 10.4R1.9, and my client had another EX running 12 version in spare.

So, we put this other box in running and the problem apparently is resolve by complete. Now I'm looking some release notes of this Junos version, so I think I can find some bug that was doing this.

there is a bug on 10.4R1.9, if you can upgrade software to 11.4R3 and 12.1R1.  You can solve that.
