Hello.

I have a problem with one EX4200-48T. It can't boot JunOS.

it stucks on the line

tsec0: no hardware MAC address

And next kernel panic and reboot.

Sometimes it boots, but rarely and in backup JunOS. I've already tried different versions of JunOS - symptoms are similar. I tried to copy backup partition to main - it doesn't work.

Is there any ways of resolving that?

Did you try to format the device from USB?

Do you by any chance have the output of "show chassis firmware"?

Very likely, if the format will not help, then you might need to replace the device.

These are the recovery from usb boot instructions.  You will need a working model to create the usb boot device.

Yes, I've alredy tried to install JunOS with format using "install --format source" from loader. Doesn't helps.

show chassis firmware

root> show chassis firmware
Part Type Version
FPC 0 uboot U-Boot 1.1.6 (Jun 5 2012 - 02:26:04) 1.0.0

This instruction doesn't apply to EX-series. There is no installMedia for EX, inside jinstall-*.tar.gz packets I can't find any *.img files.

Or I didn't understand how to make it.

Do you have another ex4200 that you can generate a snapshot to USB on?

https://www.juniper.net/techpubs/en_US/junos/topics/task/configuration/ex-series-system-snapshot-boo...

Then use this to boot the problem switch and snapshot to the internal media.

HI

This looks like real hardware problem. We should be considering replacing the swithc if not recovered through Format.

Thanks
