EX4300 / EX2200 airplay with igmp-snooping

‎09-20-2018 01:06 PM

Hi!

When we enable igmp-snooping, Apple's Airplay devices disappear from the network after a while. We can't disable snooping for this VLAN, since we have some multicast devices as well in the same network.

Is there a way to configure igmp-snooping on these EX switches so that Airplay continues to work?

When snooping is disabled, Airplay works just fine.

Or is it possible to have IGMP snooping enabled for the VLAN, but disabled for certain interfaces?

I might suggest you try to configure some sort of Egress Firewall Filter (ACL) to block IGMP messages from being sent/generated on those interfaces - this may work, BUT I am not certain if these are PFE or RE generated to start with.  I would suspect PFE based on IGMP Snooping true or false.

There is no IGMP Snooping knob to do this, that I am aware of.

Good luck.
