FBF onto a GRE tunnel

‎12-23-2019 04:38 PM

Just wanted to check if GRE tunnel interfaces are supported on EX4300 series switches.

Also if they are supported - if I have a route in a routing-instance that points to this tunnel, and a FilterBasedForwarding rule that drives this routing instance - can I route incoming packets onto this tunnel interface ??

Will do some more googling - but wanted to try here first.

Hello rameshvpn,

GRE support on EX4300 is software based and “GRE tunneling (EX4300 switches)" is supported with Junos OS Release 14.1 X53-D35. Please check:
https://apps.juniper.net/feature-explorer/select-platform.html?category=Switching&typ=1#family=&pid=...

Regarding routing to the GRE, this KB was created for another platform, but same configuration applies on EX4300: https://kb.juniper.net/InfoCenter/index?page=content&id=KB12769&cat=J6350_1&actp=LIST

Other useful links for GRE and in general checking support:

Hope this helps.

-r.
