Juniper-Huawei MPLS TE-RSVP - hello packets issue

[ Edited ]
‎11-30-2018 10:06 AM

Hello,

I have a problem in my MPLS-TE RSVP-TE network between Huawei S6750/s5750 <-->Juniper MX104 <--> Huawei S6750/s5750 devices. If I remove Juniper from configuration (Huawei <--> Juniper <--> Huawei), everything works correctly. I have a problem only between Huawei-Juniper (configuration below).

Unfortunatelly, devices does not exchange hello packets (PathErr to client). Before that I had a l2vpn tunnel on MPLS LDP and everything works correctly (Huawei<-->Juniper<-->Huawei). Problem occur only when I turn on MPLS RSVP TE. Do you have any ideas?

Hello!

Maybe the problem somwhere inside HUAWEI if you don't receive hello messages at all? I don't have enough experience with HUAWEI, but probably this article can be helpful: http://support.huawei.com/enterprise/en/doc/EDOC1000141937/3f2326eb/configuring-rsvp-hello-extension

Hello, thank you for the reply. I have solved this issue  - indeed there were problems with it.

Now I have RSVP sessions UP HW-JN. I can even set tunnel HW-JN and the tunnel-interface is UP.

I have last one problem which i cannot solve:

Juniper cant work as a TRANSIT device: I cannot set tunnel HW --> JN --> HW.

I tried many things, e.g. set MPLS Traffic Engineering with option: MPLS FORWARDING , but it is not the case.

Anybody have idea what am I missing?

Hi,

what errors/symptoms have you got now? Or it's just not working as expected?

Hello,

it is not setting up a LSP Huawei -> Huawei through Juniper.

Juniper is setting UP LSP with all connected to it Huaweis (4), but its not transiting  session(?)/LSPs(?) between two Huaweis.

I just have read about something called LMP (Link management Protocol) - do I need to set neighboring Huawei peers in it? Just for transiting LSP ?

tirou@rt01-jn# run show mpls lsp transit
Transit LSP: 0 sessions
Total 0 displayed, Up 0, Down 0

Hi,

Try to check the outpur from show route table mpls.0 command.

It must contains a transit LSP has built on RSVP.

Hello, I  dont have any of RSVP LSP in mpls.0 . I have in table inet.3 RSVP LSP but only those which Juniper is Ingress for. No transit LSP with SWAP table.

What should I turn on? Which option am I missing?

[Thank you for the reply]
