We have EX4200 at our Core and EX2200 at the edge. We realized that GVRP/MVRP is still not available on EX2200 and it is a big set back considering we will not be able to propogate VLANS automatically from our EX4200.
This is a very basic feature and we are surprised the same is not supported on EX2200.
Any idea how we can work around through this problem ?
If MVRP and GVRP was a requirement for the edge, an EX4200 should have been used. The EX4200 also provides the virtual-chassis feature which provides better performance on the edge as well.
There are plans to support 802.1ak on the EX2200, but it isn't available today. The EX2200 is a solution to a very specific problem. It's a price competitive, entry-level switch designed to be used in a branch office with POE.
Agreed it should be included with the EX2200, and I'm sure it will be (if it isn't already).
However, that's no excuse for not reading and understanding the datasheets of the product you purchased. A switch is an expensive investment... you'd think it would make sense to at least research it before buying.
That being said, just create the VLANs yourself. That's typically the way it's done anyway.
