RPD_RT_PREFIX_LIMIT_REACHED:

‎11-24-2009 09:06 PM

Recently, I saw many log entries in my ex-4200 switch and found that the number of routes reach the limit for ex-4200 (I have configured BGP with ISP before).

RPD_RT_PREFIX_LIMIT_REACHED: Number of prefixes (12288) n table inet.0 still exceeds or equals configured maximum

What will happen if the routes reach the limit for ex-4200?

P.S. I did not buy Advanced license in EX-4200.

Hi,

you cannot use EX4200 as BGP peering router as hardware does not support more than 10k entries! If you exceed this limit then you would have some accidental 10k entries in your FIB (hardware). Please take a look at J6350 or M7i/M10i for BGP peering.

If this worked for you please flag my post as an "Accepted Solution" so others can benefit. A kudo would be cool if you think I earned it.

Kind Regards

Michael Pergament
