Upgrade ex4200 from 10.4R8 to 12.3R8

‎01-05-2015 11:12 AM

I decided to check with JTAC before I upgraded my 4 member VC of ex4200's, I was told I needed to upgrade the bootloader, which I knew, AND I need to upgrade to 11.4R1 first?

I would rather not waste the time if it is not necessary,

So my question is, does anyone know for certiain if I would need to upgrade like:

12.4R8>New jloader>11.4R1>12.3R8

or has anyone upgraded and skipped the 11.4R1 step?

Not on the EX but had the same path on an SRX and the direct jump from 10.4 to 12.1 failed, we did have to go to 11.4 first.

According to the release notes, you should be able to upgrade directly from 10.4R8 to 12.3R8.

I tested in the lab this and it's working(I already had the jloader that allows dual partition):

In general, all EEOL releases can be upgraded from one to another, without having to upgrade to intermediary releases:
