number of configured tpids exceeds the limit

‎07-02-2019 08:00 AM

Hi,

i have an problem with an LACP 10g switch interface. Two 10 gig interface are an logical ae2 interface, but one of the 10g interface won't come up. It was working in the past without any issues. But after we have swiched the routing engine of our 8 Switch Virtual Chassis manually, we see an dead 10g interface xe-2/2/0 and in the log file:

number of configured tpids exceeds the limit(4)

What does this messages mean? How can i reactivete the 10gig port?

Setup: 8x EX4300 in a virtual chassis.

kind regards

Thomas

Hi,

Two issues here:

1. Interface xe-2/2/0 down

2. Error log "number of configured tpids exceeds the limit(4)"

I would be surprised if these two issue are related

For issue #1: Let's forget about VC and the activities you've done on the VC. Let's start from basics, let's check the cable/optics and remote end. Most likely this is a physical issue. If this is related with a problem status on VC, I'd suggest you to open a JTAC ticket

For issue #2: Looks to be an informaional/cosmetic log
