Switching

Hello,

i have tried to update my ex4200 but i got following error

root> ... add /mnt/jinstall-ex-4200-12.3R12.4-domestic-signed.tgz

Checking pending install on fpc0
rcp: shell/tcp: unknown service

 

any idea how to solve it?

The right procedure is to copy over the image files from USB to a tmp directory on the device and then issue the upgrade command - "request system software add /var/tmp/image.tgz".

if standard installation fails, perform a recovery installation. Please find the procedure below:

Before you start, copy the juniper.conf.gz to an USB device, then re-install the device, then load the juniper.conf.gz again and commit it.

If formatting doesn't help, it's better to have the EX replaced. This error shouldn't be seen while applying an image on the box. Please update so others can benefit from your post.
