Hi all,

Current we have two EX4500 forms a virtual chassis, and the CPU is very high. The master take about 70-80 percent cpu usage and backup take 40 percent of cpu usage.

The process use the CPU are like:

last pid: 58409; load averages: 3.46, 2.63, 2.43 up 222+11:15:39 10:16:32
136 processes: 9 running, 107 sleeping, 20 waiting

Mem: 459M Active, 135M Inact, 98M Wired, 63M Cache, 110M Buf, 226M Free
Swap:

The JunOS version is 12.3R10.2

Does anybody face the same issue? And how to solve it? Thanks.

Do you poll SNMP from the VC?

No, I  configure the switch as an SNMP server, but not an SNMP client

Hi,

I'm using a VC with 2 EX4500 and the CPU is very good. My Junos version is 11.4R5.7

In your case, please try something below:

- Verify VC mode, if it's in mixed mode, try to change to non mixed mode

- Try to upgrade to latest Junos version, the recommended version now is Junos 12.3R12 for EX4500

Thank you.

do you have any aggregated devices off of it? I had a similar issue that caused sfid and pfim to spik when a device off an agg port was failing lacp negotiation and arping out both interfaces, if you run a shell and monitor the sfid process you can check the logs for errors that would point you in a better direction....

Hi,

Yes, there's aggregated interfaces run on this switch.

And about run a shell and monitor the sfid process, I havn't done that before, do you know where I can find a guide?

Thanks.
