What’s the next digital frontier? It’s Digital Cohesion, a future in which applications we use often self-assemble to deliver compelling mega services that enhance our lives. Today, if I need a ride to the airport I might order a ride on Uber. Or if I want dinner delivered to my home I might order a meal through doordash. In doing so, I am using applications manually. In the future, these services will act autonomously, and deploy based on my situation, need, and location, as well as my history and feedback from other services or devices I’ve used. I will no longer need to call such services, as they will automatically appear and serve when needed.

Juniper Networks Announces Virtual MX

by Juniper Employee ‎11-14-2014 11:25 AM - edited ‎11-17-2014 04:49 AM

On Thursday 6th November 2014, Juniper Networks launched the virtual MX (vMX) router. The vMX is a Virtualised Network Function (VNF) that has been developed directly from the software that runs on the Juniper Networks MX router. As a result, the vMX benefits from the extensive feature set, which has been developed on the MX over a seven-year period, contributing to making it the world’s first full-featured virtualized carrier-class router.

The vMX complements the existing MX product line. The MX portfolio includes the 80 Terabit MX2020 Router, supporting multiple 100 GE interfaces, to the much smaller (8.9 cm high) 80 Gigabits MX5 optimised for lower density 1 GE and 10 GE solutions.
