Bypass IDP when throughput is over the limit

‎09-13-2012 08:14 AM

Hi there, I have a problem with my IDP250 version 5.1

I use the 8 eth in 4 virtual circuit and monitoring a very busy segment of my network. Often the throughput is more than 300 Mbps and IDP drop the packet blocking the navigation of my client.

How I can set IDP to bypass the packet when throughput is more than 300Mbps?

Thanks

Good to know you are planning to do this. Let me know when you're done because I will then simply flood your IDP with 400 mbit of traffic to bypass it 🙂

Just kidding. This is not a good idea. Get bigger IDP boxes if you need more throughput.

Though we cannot set a bypass based on Throughput, we can set a flow bypass on the IDP that can be trigger a bypass once a certain threshold of CPU utilization is reached.

Hope that helps
