Hello. Primary goal is blocking user access to some protocols and some resources (skype, youtube for example) on t320. It is possible or i need another platform like a srx?

You really need the SRX with the license for url filtering for this type of application.

The multiservices card does not really do any deep inspection processes (IDP).  the features supported are nat, stateful firewall, encryption and J-flow.  You can see the list of features here.

  • Junos Traffic Vision (formerly referred to as Jflow)
  • Junos Address Aware (formerly referred to as NAT features)
  • Junos VPN Site Secure (formerly referred to as IPsec features)
  • Junos Network Secure (formerly referred to as the Stateful Firewall feature)
  • Junos Services Crypto Base PIC Package
  • Junos Services Application Level Gateways

Hi,

You may use SRX to block these applications, however, IDP alone will not suffice for this requirement. You might want to use SRX AppSecure feature which detects these applications efficiently.

You may check the below link:

Cheers,
