Where is "snmp_trap_link_up.interface-name" defined

‎10-02-2015 02:59 AM

Hi there,

I hav spent 2 days looking into this and I cant seem to find it, nor has JTAC.

I am using a script that utilises the SNMP_TRAP_LINK_UP trap and i see that you can use interface-name to determine what interface we are talking about but in my wanting to know more about what I am doing, I wanted to learn about where its defined.

Where is the documentation for this trap and what other arguments / parameters it provides?

TIA! 🙂

HI Aaron.

I don't have a ready pointer to docs for you, but if you can explain a bit more about your script and what you're trying to get it to do, I may be able to help.    I.e., is this an event script that's trying to parse the interface passed in on a link_up event ?   Or something else ?

The only place that I know that it's defined is RFC 2863, which is the interfaces group MIB.  Is that what you are asking for?
