Device discovery issue with sync failed message

‎06-19-2015 01:47 PM

Hello people, hope you're doing fine.

I've tried to discover two MX960 in a customer environment and one of them worked fine and the other one has been added but with the managed status "Sync Failed". I've done a few research but only found information about old versions of Junso Space. I'm using Junos Space 14.1R3.4. I've got a few informaation on logs at same time I've tried to resync the device manually as you can see bellow.

2015-06-19 17:28:44,744 WARN [net.juniper.jmp.cmp.deviceConnectivity.DeviceConnectionMBeanImpl] (pool-13-thread-83) Received CHANNEL_CLOSE message from device (8028181, 5).
2015-06-19 17:28:44,747 ERROR [net.juniper.jmp.cmp.deviceIOMgr.DevIOAsyncSshClient] (Thread-204) No data channel found. Incoming channel data are dropped
2015-06-19 17:28:45,997 ERROR [net.juniper.jmp.cmp.deviceIOMgr.DevIOAsyncSshClient] (Thread-204) No data channel found. Incoming channel data are dropped
2015-06-19 17:28:45,999 ERROR [net.juniper.jmp.cmp.deviceIOMgr.DevIOAsyncSshClient] (Thread-204) No data channel found. Incoming channel data are dropped

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It would be interesting to see if Space is able to open a netconf channel to the target device.

To test this you could try logging into the CLI of the Junos Space appliance, and then try the following command:

"ssh username@x.x.x.x -s netconf" , this way you can verify that at the bare minimum a netconf channel can be opened to the target device.

[root@space-000c293a3bb6 ~]# ssh space@192.168.0.210 -s netconf
Password:

<!-- user space, class j-super-user -->
