Commit Error - Subscriber over Aggregate

‎01-11-2017 11:20 PM

Hi,

I changed my configuration: Subscriber over phisical Xe-GigabitEthernet to Agregate Ethernet.
After changed, any changes in configuration ( new firewall line, new vlan over any port ) not saved.

Error to commit or commit check:
error: ffp_intf_ifl_config_verify: Modified IFD "ae11" is in use by BBE subscriber, commit denied - config_ae_num (6), invalid
error: foreign file propagation (ffp) failed

configuration:

Before:

set interfaces xe-0/0/2 flexible-vlan-tagging
set interfaces xe-0/0/2 auto-configure vlan-ranges dynamic-profile vlan-profile accept pppoe
set interfaces xe-0/0/2 auto-configure vlan-ranges dynamic-profile vlan-profile ranges any
set interfaces xe-0/0/2 auto-configure vlan-ranges access-profile Radius-Profile
set interfaces xe-0/0/2 unit 0 family bridge interface-mode trunk
set interfaces xe-0/0/2 unit 0 family bridge vlan-id-list xx
set interfaces xe-0/0/2 unit 0 family bridge vlan-id-list xx

After:

set interfaces ae11 flexible-vlan-tagging
set interfaces ae11 auto-configure vlan-ranges dynamic-profile vlan-profile accept pppoe
set interfaces ae11 auto-configure vlan-ranges dynamic-profile vlan-profile ranges any
set interfaces ae11 auto-configure vlan-ranges access-profile Radius-Profile
set interfaces ae11 aggregated-ether-options minimum-links 1
set interfaces ae11 aggregated-ether-options link-speed 10g
set interfaces ae11 unit 0 family bridge interface-mode trunk
set interfaces ae11 unit 0 family bridge vlan-id-list xx
set interfaces ae11 unit 0 family bridge vlan-id-list xx

I have configured:

set system dynamic-profile-options versioning, and I tested over just 1 Xe-Gigabit within aggregate

Version MX80:

15.1R4-S1.5

In other JunOS version, I worked with subscribers over aggregation no problems.

Hi fmacedobr,

The system is designed to not allow a change to an active profile to be modified as a protection mechanism. There is no way to force the commit to happen.

The options you have are to:   Disconnect all subscribers currently using the profile and execute the commit. Rollback the configuration changes to undo the change and execute the commit.
Instead of modifying this dynamic profile to include the new interface ae11, you can create a new dynamic profile with the desired changes, and apply this new profile. This way, all new subscribers will use the new profile and the old profile can be deleted once no subscribers are using it.

Thanks to reply,
"The system is designed to not allow a change to an active profile to be modified as a protection mechanism"
Yeah! Change in profile or change in underlying interface not possible, ok, I accept.. but the MX not permit change any configuration? I can't insert new firewall fiter, a new static route, nothing.

ld be because you already have this configuration which is pending for a commit.

Rollback all the changes related to this and then you should be able to do commit for any other changes that you make which are unrelated to this.T

Yeah, I did rolback before open this post because is impossible work if you can't commit.

I found this log. It was create at 'maintenance window':

felipe@WGO_MX_02_PPPOE> show log bbe-smgd_era_autoconf_drop.log
ERA: ERA Version 109, (PID 1591), Time Thu Jan 12 04:15:07 2017

I found a "Problem Report" about bbe ( not my problem, but about bbe ), but anyway, did not apply to my version.

Hi Folks,

As per my understanding after 14.2, chassis AE device-count and namespace of AE got decoupled. This observation with commit failing seems to be a Buggy behavior. Please open a JTAC case and look for a fix.

rename /usr/lib/ffp/liboiu-ffp.so zu /usr/lib/ffp/liboiu-ffp.so_bk on all REs do a commit.

Got the same issue solved it in this way

Hi,

This issue is easily reproducible in lab. Looks like you've not configured the device-count.

chassis {
    aggregated-devices {
    ethernet {
    device-count 6;
    }

Yes issue can be seen for XE interface as well. Please open new thread, we can check the exact error message. Kindly also share the show hardware output.
