EX4200 Virtual Chassis - SFID CPU load

‎06-27-2018 04:01 AM

Hi all,

we have two pairs of EX4200 in a virtual chassis configuration in our core.

VC1 is using JunOS 12.3R6.6

VC2 is using JunOS 12.3R12-S9

We are doing basic L3, LACP and two BGP sessions with default routes. ARP and route counts are in a low range.
We have migrated from VC1 to VC2 and experiencing a higher CPU load on VC2.

Load on VC1:
CPU states: 11.3% user,  0.0% nice,  9.0% system,  0.4% interrupt, 79.4% idle

Load on VC2:
CPU states: 18.2% user,  0.0% nice, 21.8% system,  1.6% interrupt, 58.3% idle

The interesting part is the CPU load of the sfid process:
VC1: around 5%
VC2: around 20%

The biggest difference in our configration of VC2 to VC1 is the activated nonstop-routing functionality.

Any ideas ?

Kind regards,
