Forcing the FTP Source address for sessions originating from the router

‎01-05-2015 04:01 AM

Hi

I have the following configured for my lo0:

unit 0 {
    family inet {
        filter {
            input filter;
        }
        address a.a.a.a/32 {
            primary;
            preferred;
        }
        address b.b.b.b/32;
        address c.c.c.c/32;
    }
    family iso {
        address x.x.x.x.x;
    }
}

 I need to get the router to archive the config on commit to a site using the source address of b.b.b.b

I cant see a way of doing this?

any ideas?

Hello,

It is possible but in a roundabout way:

1/ mark b.b.b.b/32 as primary

2/ add following line to the config

set system default-address-selection

 3/ manually set source IP address for every management protocol You have enabled:

- NTP

- SNMP traps

- syslog

- RADIUS/TACACS

- etc

In the end, all management sessions initiated from this router will have src.IP==b.b.b.b, including FTP/telnet/ssh

HTH

Thanks

Alex
