  • 1.  Issue with JunOS for QFX5200-48Y

    Posted 03-18-2019 05:57

    Hi all,

I am trying to downgrade my QFX5200-48Y from 18.1R1.9 to the JTAC recommended version 17.3R3-S3.3. I have the USB stick in the FAT32 format with the correct image file. However, when I plug the USB stick into the switch, I get the following messages instead of information about the USB.

root@qfx5200:RE:0% sd 9:0:0:0: [sdb] No Caching mode page found
sd 9:0:0:0: [sdb] Assuming drive cache: write through
sd 9:0:0:0: [sdb] No Caching mode page found
sd 9:0:0:0: [sdb] Assuming drive cache: write through
sd 9:0:0:0: [sdb] No Caching mode page found
sd 9:0:0:0: [sdb] Assuming drive cache: write through

Can someone please tell me how this issue can be resolved?

    Thanks

QFX5200-48Y is supported starting from 18.1.

So, you shouldn't downgrade to 17.3

    https://www.juniper.net/documentation/en_US/release-independent/junos/topics/topic-map/qfx5200-system-overview.html#jd0e75

"The QFX5200-48Y is supported on Junos OS Release 18.1R1 and later."

The messages you see are repeating. So, looks like the usb stick is being detected again and again.

You can try with different usb stick or check if it's inserted properly.

Just a follow up to Andreis post. I have sent feedback to the documentation team to get the list of JTAC recommended releases updates to reflect the difference between QFX5200-32C and QFX5200-48Y.

I also asked to have QFX5120 added as well, while they have the editor open 🙂

JTAC recommended releases now reflects different Junos versions for QFX5200-32C and QFX5200-48Y. They added QFX5120 as well 🙂
