  • 1.  LACP between Juniper M10i and EX2200

    Hello,

I have set up a 2 * 1Gbps LACP connection between a Juniper M10i and EX2200. It works well and throughput is around 1.35Gbps during peak. However, today my friend told me that in real performance, we can only get around 1.4 - 1.5Gbps max out of a 2 * 1Gbps LACP if we use the default MTU (1500).

I can't find any reference in Google regarding LACP and MTU. Has anyone counter this limit before?

    Thanks in advance

The MTU has nothing to do with LACP.

It might be that the packets crossing the links are big, should not be fragmented and they are dropped hence keeping the links underutilized. But in this case, you should see problems with the applications.

The 'low' throughput might be because the applications are using relatively small packets.

Keep in mind that what you see as line rate is different for packets at 64B and for packets at 1500B.
