LAG: ae interface with interfaces towards different routers

Look at the setup below.

Left router has an ae with two interfaces, one interface to a different router each.

Only one of the remote right routers is pingable from the left router.

 

Probably standard behaviour, but how would I have both links active at the same time?

This is the expected behavior. In this topology MC-LAG can be used:

Which platforms are you using?

 

With EX and SRX devices you can use the following topology.

Also, I think you can use MC-LAG and VRRP for this purpose.
