MX204 BNG maximum number of subscribers

Just try to figure what maximum number of subscribers can handle MX204.😀

I've found some old information that maximum number of subscribers is up to 32,000 Dual-Stack subscribers.

But that was 2-years old information and now we have 20.2 JunOS release.

As far as I know maximum numbers can be higher if we'll use latest JunOS releases.

What maximum number of BNG subscribers can proces mx204 on day to day basis?

I know some examples on MX960 with four MPC-3D-16XGE-SFPP where only FPC used for 50,000 subscribers (other two for BGP uplinks).

P.S. I need to process up to ~60,000 of subscribers. I want to have 2 routers, but in some cases mx204 should perform all work alone😉

32r dual-stack subscriber limitation is due to 256k queues supported on chip (8 queue per subscriber), and this is hardware limitation. If you does not use hqos , number of subscriber will be bigger, but depends on filter used in service profiles / fib size / and some other options. So better way to test this for your specific use case.

P.S. MPC-3D-16XGE-SFPP not qualified for SM

Thaks for your reply, so the only method is to try... (

But what means upper limit.

What will be in case of exceeding it, new dynamic sessions will not be created or it will be created but will work incorrectly or all router will stops working?
