I do not have the ability to download firmware from the site. What versions of firmware can go to my product and how to get them? 32 Bit - MX Mid Range Series & ACX Series or MX Mid Range Series & ACX Series or WorldWide - MX Mid Range Series & ACX Series version 15.
So which version can you choose from 19? Limited - MX Mid Range Series & ACX 500 / 1K / 2K / 4K or MX Mid Range Series & ACX 500 / 1K / 2K / 4K

Thanks for attention!

Hello Ildar,

It seems there is not enough space on your MX80:

Verified SHA1 checksum of jpfe-MX80-15.1R6.7.tgz
tar: packages/jpfe-MX80-15.1R6.7: Wrote only 0 of 10240 bytes <========
tar: Skipping to next header
tar: packages/jpfe-MX80-15.1R6.7.ecerts: Wrote only 0 of 10240 bytes
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors
ERROR: jpfe-15.1R6.7 fails post-install
WARNING: Current configuration not compatible with /var/home/username/jinstall-ppc-15.1R6.7-domestic-signed.tgz

Can you please try running "request system storage cleanup dry-run" first to see the list of files that can be deleted, and then "request system storage cleanup" to delete them?

You should use "MX Mid Range Series & ACX Series" unless your country is Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan (for more details, please see TSB16657).

Regarding the choice of a version, indeed there were some major changes in 15.1 and later releases, and you may observe some unusual behavior. 19.1 is probably too fresh - I'd recommend trying 16.1 first as more mature and widely used release.

Hi,

Since you're upgrading from Non-Occam build (12.3) to Occam build (15.1), some of config knob have been depreciated, and there have changes base kernal,  please use "no-validate" knob to progress further.

request system software add <package> no-validate

and let me know how to it goes. Do not upgrade to JUNOS 19.1 directly (from your current version 12.3), first have node upgraded to junos 15.1Rx. In case if you do not have access to download JUNOS S/w from download page [https://support.juniper.net/support/downloads/] please contact juniper customer care and request for courtesy support case / one time s/w download link.

I tried to delete files through the start shell. Failed. Here is what the system outputs:
% rm jinstall-ppc-11.4R1.14-domestic-signed.tgz
override rw-r - r-- 2003 / field for jinstall-ppc-11.4R1.14-domestic-signed.tgz?
I press enter.

% ls
ex.txt krt_gencfg_filter.txt

rpd_XXXXXXXX.XXXXXX-tarball.0.tgz
gres-tp login.core.0 rtsdb
install login.core.1 sampled.pkts
jinstall-ppc-10.4R1.9-domestic-signed.tgz pics vi.recover
jinstall-ppc-11.4R1.14-domestic-signed.tgz preinstall_boot_loader.conf
jinstall-ppc-12.3R6.6-export-signed.tgz rpd.core.0

But the file is still not deleted.

Spoiler
Can you please try running "request system storage cleanup dry-run" first to see the list of files that can be deleted, and then "request system storage cleanup" to delete them?

If I enter the "request system storage cleanup" command, what will it remove? And which files can be removed painlessly? Thanks again!

Hello Ildar,

You're welcome! All files listed in the output of "request system storage cleanup dry-run" will be deleted when you issue "request system storage cleanup" command (without dry-run option) - e.g. only files that are not needed for system to be operational will be removed.

It should be possible to delete any file you need if you have the root password (start shell user root, and then delete them from shell as a root).

Big thanks guys! Removed old firmware files from under the root. Made an update of the OS. Everything is good. The problem was just the lack of free space.

Ok!

Even after updating the firmware, it is necessary to update the backup part with the command:
> request system snapshot

I also used the command to clean unnecessary files:
> request system storage cleanup

I am currently using jinstall-ppc-15.1R6.7-domestic-signed.tgz
