[MX80] event-options for active multiple isps FAILOVER with rpm probes

‎05-11-2017 07:56 PM

Hi,

I would like to know how event-options look like if i have 4 isps with rpm probes from each corresponding next-hop peers.

lan 1  ------> mx80 -----> isp 1

                                ------> isp 2

                                ------> isp 3

                                ------> isp 4

is it logical to group these isps into a routing instance and configure  a event-scripts ? will  it work?

what will happen to the script if isp 1 goes back online? what would be the script looks like ?

need your inputs on this one.

thank you.

Hello,

If each ISP sends a full table, I'd suggest NOT to run RPM on MX80 - MX80 RE has only 2GB of RAM.

Also, changing config via event-policy/event-script requires commit, and wth >2 full tables You'd see that MX80 commit takes long time.

If You are still undeterred, please contact Your nearest Juniper account manager and s/he will introduce You to Juniper Professional Services who can write & test a suitable event-policy/event-script for You.

HTH

Thx

Alex
