Message Error in Screen after Device Crash

Hi, we have a problem with our MX5-T router. In a moment the device crashed, leaving without access the console. It was necessary we reboot it.
After reboot, the device worked per 14 hours. A new crashing was happening again.
We are trying to upgrade a new version, but an error message is displayed on the screen frequently and the device are freezing.

The message is:

g_vfs_done():da1s1f[WRITE(offset=8192, length=2048)]error = 5

This is an error of hard disk? The MX5-T router have a hard disk or compact flash? Will it necessary to buy a new disk?

Best regards,

Jean Tomaz

The error does appear to be disk related to me as well.  The disk is flash in this model but generally Juniper devices are not setup for individual component replacement.  You would change out the RE in this case.

You could try to do an Junos install from USB first following this procedure.

Hi, Steve.
I've appreciated your attention.
Yes, I did this procedure. But, other issues have happened. I tried with USB and TFTP using different software images.

loader> install --format tftp://192.168.35.89/jinstall-ppc-15.1R4-S1.5-domestic.tgz
Speed: 100, full duplex
cannot load kernel from package (error 2)
loader> I2C: ready

loader> install file:///jinstall-ppc-15.1R4-S1.5-domestic.tgz
cannot open package (error 22)
loader>

loader> install file:///jinstall-ppc-15.1R5-S1.5-domestic.tgz
cannot open package (error 22)
loader>

My device is warranty covered. I'll start the warranty service.

More once, thank for your response.

Best regards,

Hello Jean,

You can try booting from USB.

## Connect USB in working router [fortat USB before connecting]

## request system snapshot media usb

## Once completed without error, take out this USB and connect to the problematic router.

## Reboot the router

## if the router reboots without any issue [assuming no issue with disk], issue below command

## request system snapshot

## remove the USB and boot the router.
