right out of the box, I tried to connect to the Con Mini-USB port of the EX2200-C and into my USB port in my PC.
I configured the COM, the baud rate, etc. from Juniper's website , Youtube ( basically all the same ) but NO GO!!
All i get is a solid green cursor in a DOS like environment.
I spent 3 hours looking for answhers on Youtube - it appears all the Putty configurations are correct.
Then ( tho the explanation isnt clear) Juniper knowledge base mentions the RJ45 Con port is the Active port by default and the Mini USB port - passive.
So does this mean I MUST connect FIRST using the RJ45 port even tho i DON'T HAVE A DB9 (RS232) PORT??
If it's a requirement, do I need a RJ45 (Con port side) to db9 female ( provided) and then a db9 male to USB ( the PC side) ????
Can anyone help??? So far Juniper wont help unless $$$ is spent on a contract
This cable should get You out of this trouble
BUT - why bother if You can do switch config entirely via browser
The mini usb requires a driver that is not included with windows. The juniper page with the descriptions is here. http://www.juniper.net/documentation/en_US/release-independent/junos/topics/task/installation/port-e... However they seem to have removed or locked down the driver download. This is the original manufacturer download page. https://www.silabs.com/products/mcu/Pages/USBtoUARTBridgeVCPDrivers.aspx
