  • 1.  [REQ] qfx5100-48s-6q - parity error.

    Hi, ALL!

     

    I found that some logs about parity error.

    Does this log affect services? or Is the log automatically resolved?

    These were actual parity errors detected by SER logic, and also have been cleared.

    CLEAR_RESTORE message indicates that, the corresponding entries at those indexes (where the parity is reported) are cleared.

    If you see CLEAR_RESTORE or CACHE_RESTORE message after parity error message, then they indicate that parity was detected and cleared or corrected. CLEAR_RESTORE: Entry that reported the parity error is cleared by SER logic CACHE_RESTORE: Entry that reported the parity error is restored from the Cache. So this messages are expected and are informal that error was corrected by system.

    I want to know SER logic in detail.

    such as, SER logic's role and fuction, etc..

    Hi,

     

    SER stands for Software Error Recovery. This is functionality, which automates the recovery of soft memory parity errors. E.g. this is a resilency feature.
