Why doesn't the config of these 2 interfaces with IP addresses work? Thanks

Change /32 subnet to /30 on both sides..

Why doesn't Junos allow host address on its interface? Thanks

This is because the /32 subnet only allows a single IPv4 address and all traffic will go directly between the device with that address and the default gateway (If any) from a host perspective. The device would not be able to communicate with other devices on the network since he is basically alone and there is no gateway.

For p2p links use /30 or /31 but never 32
