The router only boots to loader tried installing with tftp but looks like disk space is an issue. How to clean the disk in loader mode?

It looks like a broken flash on your device:

    da0 at umass-sim0 bus 0 target 0 lun 0

    da0: 40.000MB/s transfers

Could you try again with "--format" on your install command.

     install --format tftp://10.157.70.171/junos-srxsme-15.1X49-D150.2-domestic.tgz

If this doesn't work I woud suspect you need to RMA the device.

You can try to boot from USB flash drive which is used to re-format a boot device and recover an SRX Series device after boot media corruption. If this method also fails, you have to RMA the device.

Hello, what is the model of device in question and what software version it is running.

you are trying to install "junos-srxsme-15.1X49-D150.2-domestic.tgz"  (loader> install tftp://10.157.70.171/junos-srxsme-15.1X49-D150.2-domestic.tgz) on a SRX branch device, but i am not sure if that device supports this junos version.

Some of branch platforms with low memory cant go to 15.1 line of code, so they have to use 12.3 only.
