Update Junos and Jloader Question.

Hello,

I've planed to update junos on many juniper switches. Models are ex2200, ex3200, ex3300, ex4550.

I have questions:

Are jloader updates automatically with junos update?

I have such junos version on my swithes - 12.1R10.4, 12.2R7.1, 12.2R8.5. And Uboot versions are:

U-Boot 1.1.6 (Jul  5 2012 - 11:58:22) 1.0.0

U-Boot 1.1.6 (Jul  5 2012 - 11:58:22) 1.0.0

U-Boot 1.1.6 (Mar 26 2011 - 04:38:23)   1.0

U-Boot 2010.03 (Oct 21 2012 - 03:06:55) 1.0

Do I need to update jloader for upgrading Junos?

And one more question, dear colleagues. Can I update junos from 12.1R10.4 to 15.1R5.5 without updating  from 12 to 14, from 14 to 15? Just from 12 to 15 version.

Can there be some problems?

Hi,

IMO, there is no need to change jloader. It should get automatically updated with junos upgrade. Regarding the Junos upgrade, general rule of thumb is upgrading to 3 releases at a time. For more details, please refer to following links:

Hope this helps.
