    Hi, I've upgrade as you told me to do.

    But when i Try to upgrade to 15.1 and then reboot I cannot connect via ssh or via telnet to the device.

    Fortunately I had the j-web activated and from there I managed to enter the apparatus. I made a "Reboot" of the machine from there and then everything started up again. Same procedure done for other 5 switches and all the same problem. Why does this happen? Or that the ssh does not come up? Also from the 15.1 to the 17.3 same problem. Something that did not happen from 13.2 to 14.1

    What's the problem?

    Good Day,

    Could you please try to use command:

    set system services ssh root-login allow

    https://www.juniper.net/documentation/en_US/junos/topics/reference/configuration-statement/root-login-edit-system.html

    I think on a newer versions default behavior is to deny root ssh access.

    Junos OS Release 15.1, certain hardware platforms run an upgraded FreeBSD kernel (FreeBSD 10.x or later) instead of FreeBSD 6.1.
    you must reboot the device to load the newly installed version of Junos OS on the device.
    request system software add package-name <> validate reboot command from the operational mode in the CLI

    Hello and thanks for the reply. Just my curiosity.

    When an upgrade is done normally the machine is restarted. Why do I have to do a double reboot?

    I'm missing something?

    No , router wont restart automatically , it will ask us to restart manually

    if we give reboot option as i explained , it will take care automatically

    Thx

    I upgraded through junos space (as I always did ... and all the other times it always went well ... example ... from 12.x to 14.x or 13.x to 14.x) that restart the machine after installation. I also saw this verification on the j-web when I couldn't get into ssh but only through http. How is it possible?

    Before the upgrade and after the upgrade:

    ssh {
    root-login allow;
    protocol-version v2;
    max-sessions-per-connection 32;
    connection-limit 8;
    }
    netconf {
    ssh;
    }
    web-management {
    http;
    https {
    system-generated-certificate;
    }
    }
