    Hi All,

I am analising a configuration on mx-1003 with sw version 17.4R2-S4.1.

This configuration is still not in production and i can not test it.

    I found the following

set forwarding-options helpers bootp interface ae4.2031 server xx.xx.xx.5
set forwarding-options helpers bootp interface ae4.2031 server xx.xx.xx.4

My question is: what is the effect to have 2 ip address as Bootp servers? I was expecting to find somehting like "primary" and "standby" but it is not the case.

I went through documentation but i did not really find any clear answer to the above question.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

Here is the dopcumentation You were looking for

    https://www.juniper.net/documentation/en_US/junos/topics/reference/configuration-statement/server-edit-forwarding-options-bootp.html

The device forwards all broacast requests within the configured subnet to all configured servers in parallel.

When each server replies, the JUNOS BOOTP helper router duly forwards all of the replies to the client, and the client makes a selection.

    HTH

    Thx

    Alex

    Hello,

MX will forward requests from ae4.2031 to both configured servers.
