Hello ,

This states that , the PFE engine detects the interface ID as invalid for a logical interface  ( either its deleted or changed ) .

Its not an impacting logs.

Thanks,
Sam

These logs are not service impacting. These logs might be seen under folloing conditions:

1. Create an IRB (IFL) (without associating it with an physical interface)

set interfaces irb unit 1 family inet address 1.1.1.1/24

2. commit the config

3. Delete IRB interface

delete interfaces irb unit 1 family inet address 1.1.1.1/24

Invalid interface index message gets displayed because we are deleting the IFL and there is no physical interface associated with it. Are you seeing them repeatedly for a particular interface.

Are you seeing this for the same interface(569) repeating continuously?

Thank You,
SuSi

I had these messages once as well.  While they are not harmfull, they do repeat continuously and fill the logs.

And they do indicate an invalid configuration that should be fixed.

My situation is as you note, there was not interface present because it was removed from the device but the IRB left in place.
