vlan tag rewrite M7i, M10i, IQ2

‎04-03-2014 04:59 AM

How do I change a vlan tag on a tagged interface?

The routers are M series.

I have a ge interface on an IQ2 PIC, the interface has 2 units.

Unit 500 is used for a p2p connection for eBGP,

and i want to use unit 501 for a management vlan.

The vlan 501 received on the interface needs to be rewritten to another vlan-id, let's say 301 and then connected to another ge interface, unit 301 (that interface is not on the IQ2 PIC).

Can someone advise me how to accomplish that?

Thank You very much!

Hello,

Please see below for example VLAN swapping config

interfaces {
    ge-0/1/2 {
        flexible-vlan-tagging;
        encapsulation flexible-ethernet-services;
        unit 30 {
            encapsulation vlan-ccc;
            vlan-id 501;
            input-vlan-map {
                swap;
                vlan-id 301;
            }
            output-vlan-map swap;
            family ccc;
        }}}

 HTH

Thanks
Alex

Is this part also required to join the intrfaces?

Configuring the CCC Connection for Layer 2 Switching Cross-Connects

To configure Layer 2 switching cross-connects, define the connection between the two circuits by including the interface-switch statement.

interface-switch connection-name { interface interface-name.unit-number; interface interface-name.unit-number; }
