Adding IP address range in single object in NSM

‎06-11-2012 04:55 AM

Hi,

I have 3 ip addresses as follows

10.1.2.3

10.1.2.4

10.1.2.5

If i want to add all three in single object is it possible. If i have 10 ip addresses i have to add each separate object which is pain.Is there any easy solution for this.

I am running NSM 2011.1 S2

Thanks

Unfortunately, that's not possible (at least not directly from within NSM). The reason is probably because none of Juniper's firewall products support address-range objects. You can only add single address objects or network objects. So the easiest would be to combine those 10 addresses into a small subnet, if possible. Then you would only need one object.

NSM can be scripted though. I have no experience with this, but it should be possible to script bulk operations and add many objects at once this way.

By the way, Junos Space, the new management product, does actually support adress-range objects if I am not mistaken. I think I saw that mentioned in the documentation.
