Interface Flap

‎10-16-2019 09:33 PM

Hi,

So yesterday our interface went down and the following was shown on the logs.

Oct 16 02:55:31 WEALTH_DMZ mib2d[2006]: SNMP_TRAP_LINK_DOWN: ifIndex 566, ifAdminStatus up(1), ifOperStatus down(2), ifName ge-1/0/15
Oct 16 02:55:37 WEALTH_DMZ mib2d[2006]: SNMP_TRAP_LINK_DOWN: ifIndex 566, ifAdminStatus up(1), ifOperStatus down(2), ifName ge-1/0/15

I want to understand what to do in case of Admin Status UP and Operation Status DOWN.

Hi Samved,

Oct 16 02:55:31 WEALTH_DMZ mib2d[2006]: SNMP_TRAP_LINK_DOWN: ifIndex 566, ifAdminStatus up(1), ifOperStatus down(2), ifName ge-1/0/15

ifOperStatus down(2) indicates that you have an issue with your physical layer. So you need to check for issues related to cabling or sfp / port .Check the same things on the other side of the connection too.
