    Posted 05-12-2009 02:04

    Hi all,

What happens to the traffic logs when any firewall under the management of NSM loses the connection with NSM and it get's back after 10 or 15 minutues.

How will NSM response ? Will it pull the logs or do we lose the traffic logs for that 10/15 minutes ?

    Best Regards.

    Hi fehmi,

The device has a buffer and the size is dependent on the type of the device. All the logs are stored in the buffer and they get forwarded to the NSM server once the connection comes up.

The buffer is a stack & operates in the FIFO mode.

    Thanks,
    Chandra

How much logs (Mb or Gb) can a NSM hold?

This is not true for the datacenter SRX and also not true for branch SRX operating in log streaming mode. Logs will be lost in this case.
