SNMP View: "oid 1.* include" vs "oid .1 include"

3 weeks ago

Hi,

with SNMP v3 I use

}
view view_all {
    oid 1.* include;
}

however I was told that someone is having problem to pull OID's

now, aparently they do get all OID's using:

}
view view_all {
    oid .1 include;
}

what is the difference between "oid 1.* include" vs "oid .1 include"

Many thanks!

Sorry, didn't find anything explaining "why". Here's what we have for best practice

Before you want to implement something, try "show snmp mib walk .1" or some similar commands on the router. Hope this helps you a bit
