Location Tracking: Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Ultra-Wide Band (UWB)

As you may know, BLE array technology is solid for indoor location tracking. Want a third party expert opinion on different favors of Wi-Fi and BLE tracking ? Just ask Wi-Fi Ninjas: https://wifininjas.net/index.php/2019/12/17/wn-blog-023-indoor-rtls-with-wifi-and-ble-deep-dive/

However, when the going gets really tough - say you'd require sub-meter accuracy in "RF difficult" environments such as manufacturing and warehouses, BLE or Wi-Fi just doesn't cut it anymore. Cases like these - enter UWB, or Ultra-Wide Band technology. It's an additional overlay infrastructure, but provides super-high accuracy, in near-real time, in open environments such as warehousing / manufacturing. Not a silver bullet for all environments, as it's not really good for closed indoors, for example.

A leading player in the UWB space is Sewio, a close partner of Mist as well. Through the partnership, the Sewio anchors (=their UWB "APs") can be wired through the PoE Out Port of Mist APs. Just means a lot less switch ports used, less cabling work, easier installation. Check out the Wi-Fi Ninjas Podcast with Sewio that  covers UWB and the Sewio solution in detail. https://wifininjas.net/index.php/2020/03/01/wn-podcast-032-uwb-sewio-with-petr-sedlacek-and-jussi-ki...
