You can peer that way but the session will bounce when a vrrp switch occurs.

 

In these setups we typically setup dual peers to the customer router to the physical address of the two ISP upstream.   We can then use MED or the customer use local preference for selection between the two.

 

This keeps the routes up and active during a failure event avoiding the reconverge time.

Thank you Spuluka. Below is my situation. Two MXs have different Routing Engines. So I can't build up virtual chassis between MXs. Then I'm planning to implement MC-LAG active-standby. We need to connect CE device using BGP and provide default route. Is there any suggestion?

Why not make each link to the MX a separate /31 routed link instead.

 

Then both MX can peer directly to the EX across those links.  You can use local preference on the peerings to steer the traffic across the primary link in both directions.

when the primary link is lost the failover to the other link would occur, using BFD could make that faster as well.
